WHAT IS RASHTRIYA INDIAN MILITARY COLLEGE (RIMC) AND ITS BENEFITS IN 2021

RIMC stands for Rashtriya Indian Military College. RIMC offers admissions to only boys candidates in the 8th standard and prepares students for NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY(NDA).

 Admission in RIMC is based on a written examination and the interview round. Admissions made to class VIII only.

The exam is conducted at the National level. The exam is conducted twice a year, one in June and the other in January.

Rashtriya Indian Military College is administered by the Union Ministry of Defense, through the Directorate General of Military Training, Army.

 It is the only institution in the country where exams for Class X and XII are conducted twice a year, in May and November.

These exams/certifications are recognized by CBSE. The college offers only the science stream at the +2 level. It also teaches social science to prepare students for UPSC NDA.

RIMC has sent 81% of cadets to NDA from each course (as compared to the national average which stands at 0.6%).

Eligibility- Candidates who are in class 7th or have passed class 7th from recognized schools can apply for RIMC.

AGE- Candidate should not be less than11.5 years but have attained 13 years of age.

Selection procedure- Approximately 25 cadets are admitted every six months. Candidates are selected based on their performance in an All India Entrance Examination held twice a year.

The written examination comprises question papers in English (125 Marks), Mathematics (200 Marks), and General Knowledge (75 Marks), Successful candidates are called for the Viva-Voce test (50 marks).
