CAPF

Before we discussed about the DEFENCE COMPETITIVE EXAMS let’s understand first CAPF, SSC-CGL, CISF in detail.

The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) refers to the uniform nomenclature of seven security forces in India under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs. They are the Assam Rifles (AR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Security Guard (NSG), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Recruitment is conducted mainly in three modes Gazetted Officers: Officers in CAPFs are recruited through the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination conducted by UPSC.  Subordinate Officers: Sub Inspectors are recruited through competitive examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission and they are referred as DASOs (Directly Appointed Subordinate Officers).  Constables: Constables are recruited through competitive examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission.

SSC-CGL

The Staff Selection Commission conducts national level exams every year to recruit candidates into various departments under the Government of India. The SSC Exams are an excellent opportunity for aspirants trying to get into departments and offices under the Government of India.

The SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) is one of these exams.

The SSC CGL Eligibility is a critical factor in deciding the recruitment of candidates in the Group B and Group C posts under the Government of India. The SSC CGL exam is conducted in 4 stages or Tiers

CISF

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) (established in its present form: 15 June 1983) is a Central Armed Police Force in India.

It was set up under an Act of the Parliament of India on 10 March 1969 with a strength of 2,800. The CISF provides security cover to 300 industrial units, government infrastructure projects and facilities and establishments located all over India. Industrial sectors like atomic power plants, space installations, mines, oil fields and refineries, major ports, heavy engineering, steel plants, barrages, fertiliser units, airports and hydroelectric/thermal power plants owned and controlled by Central Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and currency note presses producing Indian currency are protected by CISF. It thereby covers installations all over India straddling a variety of terrain and climatic conditions. CISF also provides consultancy services to private industries as well as other organisations within the Indian government. The scope of CISF’s consulting practice includes security consulting and fire protection consulting.
